Zoologists of the Third Millennium, the XVIIIth (New) International Congress in Athens is expecting you!

We are pleased to announce that a rich and diversified program of the ICZ is in place.

We thank again all the conveners and invited lecturers who participate in the program. Unfortunately, we are sorry to say that, we are now unable to accept any further proposal for scientific sessions. There will be four programmed poster sessions for all the other participants. Also, we are open to proposals for parallel events. Please keep in mind the deadlines for the poster texts.

Our new web site, http://lionfish.ims.usm.edu/~musweb/icz_xviii/icz_home.html is now open for virtual participation. NetForums associated with each of the symposia and discussion groups are open and can be accessed by all. New topics have to be proposed and discussed with the conveners of the symposia and discussions. You can provide input by addressing messages either related to the topics, or you can directly contact the different participants of the symposia or discussions. You are especially invited to give your opinion in the NetFora of the general discussions, sessions on topics of particular interest to you, and on the tasks of the General Assembly. We are eager to have your ideas about the organization and tasks of the future congresses, the need for a permanent organization, the usefulness of a permanent web page, and other issues. Please provide your input. An alternate website is available at http://shum.cc.huji.ac.il/~por/icz_xviii/icz_home.html, although it lacks live netforums and databases of ICZ resources.

Shortly, the web-site will make available abstracts of all invited lectures and posters related to the symposia. These too will be open to pre-congress feedback on the web site. We are in an advanced stage of negotiating for publication of the Proceedings of the Congress. Instructions to the authors will be posted soon on the web-site.

Registration is now open and you can still benefit of the reduced early registration fees. Tourist services and hotel reservations are handled by Circle Tours (circle@otenet.gr). Hotels chosen, are in the vicinity of the University of Athens Campus, the site of the congress. Post Congress Excursions are being organized. Accompanying persons will have plenty to see in Athens and its surroundings. The visit to the newly excavated Lyceum of Aristotle , will be one of the highlights, and there will be also several social gatherings with the well-known Greek joy of life.

Again, we are inviting you to come to Athens and to participate with us in shaping the future of Zoology in this New Era.

Kalos orisate       Welcome to Athens
